John stroked his fingers over Simon’s head, then down the trail of braids at his back, over and over again, gently and slowly as he soothed his weary centaur to sleep. He didn’t ask if Simon was awake, and he didn’t have to. His eyes were closed. “I feel like tellin’ the rest o’ the story, as long as I can stay awake fer it. Everyone knew of the young Knight John James MacTavish, adopted son of King Price, and it was damn near impossible not to recognize him—he was the only human who had accomplished the notable feat of not only riding a centaur into battle, but training him to fight. It was a known fact that centaurs wanted nothing to do with humankind, were completely disinterested in combat, and openly despised anything dangerous—which was why there were so few centaurs left in any human-occupied lands. Centaurs always kept to themselves on the coasts and lived off of the sea’s endless bounty, and would flee at the slightest hint of conflict. Simon was an outcast from his own kind in many ways; unlike them, he savored the thrill when his enemies froze in their tracks as he charged toward them, wielding a sword of his own, with the might of MacTavish on his back.

Johnny was slow and cautious as he peeled up each piece of tape from the waxy brown paper, scared that whatever was inside might break or tear if he wasn’t careful enough; it was so light, it must have been breakable. Simon watched him closely the whole time, spinning his mug again. The last piece of tape came off and Johnny slowly unwrapped the paper. A long loop of bead chain (like the ones that held his and Simon’s dog tags) fell out of the paper as Johnny ripped it accidentally, and he shook it a little to get whatever was attached to it out of the paper too.

Johnny could see the slight confusion in Simon's eyes as he looked at it.  It made sense, Simon wasn't exactly a jewellery person; he wasn't even really a 'dress up really nice to go somewhere fancy' person unless for some reason an op required it. So yeah, why would Johnny get him a necklace? A piece of digital art made to look like it was drawn with dark red pencil on a piece of rough sketchbook paper. His elbows were trapped between his thighs and his arms curled back over his head like he was protecting himself from falling debris… or from someone about to hit him. It seemed to help at least a little, Simon let more of his weight sink into the sofa cushions, let himself sag against Johnny's side a little more. Not much. Not much at all, but a tiny bit. Once they’d both finished their drinks, Johnny dragged Simon closer to him again, wrangling him into a proper cuddle and shifting them both around so Simon could rest with his head on Johnny’s shoulder if he wanted to. At first, he kept his head up, stiffened all the way back up again, so much Johnny almost regretted trying, scared he'd made it worse.

It was a little too tight for him. It wasn't a compression shirt or anything, but the effect was honestly pretty close. It stretched across his chest and made Johnny want to put his hands on his pecs.

Rose and Lavender chapter 9 :D

#Ghoap finally talk about Simon's panic attack in Chapter 7 (so be prepared for some very heavy Roba centric topics, just as a warning), and we get a bit of an explanation for Simon's lap running.

"I know, but I do want to have sex be a part of our relationship, there’s just… certain things that make that a bit more difficult for me than it should be," he explained.

Simon narrowed his eyes at him. "Bullshit," he said. "What!? Your callsign is Ghost! I can have nothing behind mine but a compliment about my-" "Bull. Shit. You did something stupid to get it." "Did not!" "Did too! I bet Gaz knows it, I’ll ask him if you won’t tell me!" Johnny stuck his tongue out at him. "Traitor," he muttered. Simon laughed. "Go on, tell me," he said. "I won’t tell anyone else."

This chapter's a bit shorter I think but I still like it, it's more Soap and Gaz that Ghoap, but I know I had a lot of fun writing Gaz and Soap's interactions.

Tiny doodle of the boys heads with "Ghoap Doodles pt. 1 written! Tiny Lemon to say hi as well! :) Soap!! "Can you tell who's my favorite and when I locked in?" I had intially wanted this sketchbook page to be full of the boys but I couldn't figure out how to draw Simon at first.. turns out I needed to draw Soap first! Test on the left says: "Scars on his ears from close calls with headphones/mic breaking." Ghost!! Or Simon, without the mask! "No mask, locked in here too lol!" I really like this design because I see the unkempt, kinda curly hair on Simon a lot and I love the idea of it. He's a cutie patootie. Ghost's drawing has a small patch of hair missing on the right side of his forehead! "Slightly buzzed part that won't grow back due to an accident" this is because "foreshadowing on how much Soap's death affects him." This was definitely not because I messed up and then came up with it last minute and it made me sad so I kept it... Not at all.
