Been researching for remnants of the Denver's first Intl airport, Stapleton & found Hangar 61 (now a church) at 8700 E 21st Ave still exists. Built in 1959, it maybe the only diamond-shaped barrel shell building in the world & was designed to house Ideal Cement's Fairchild F-29 twin turboprop plane.

I’m told it was not a U-28, but I’m fairly certain we are talking about another one of the panoply of SOCOM-specific turboprop ISR platforms that can be armed with CLT systems and that also often operate with low-vis white paint jobs (which does seem to raise a genuine perfidy question, unless…

The story is still very weird but I'm pretty confident that whatever it was is a SOCOM ISR turboprop something something equipped with a CLT derringer door

During the post-9/11 wars the Air Force modified a number of civilian turboprop aircraft to carry the Common Launch Tube weapons dispenser, including variants of the Pilatus PC-12, the Cessna Caravan, and the DHC-8. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/12/u...

One of these was zooming around East Anglia yesterday. A German-built turboprop feeder-liner in military use as the "C-146A Wolfhound"... "primary mission is to provide U.S. Special Operations Command flexible and responsive operational movement of small teams and cargo". No mil markings

I jumped for 427th because folks waiving at a civilian plane made me think of some sketchy civilian colored turboprop. A 737 swooping down to circle folks seems so out of the ordinary that I’d assume folks would think it’s government.
January 13, 2026 at 7:04 AM
A 737 equipped with a CLT wouldn't be impossible, but I think it's much more likely it's a turboprop something (King Air/Dash 8/etc)

a list of Weird Little Freaks one can fly on from DFW Airport, and where they fly to (1/?)

Cessna 208 Caravan, 9 seater turboprop
Flown by Southern Airways Express
Fly to Harrison, AR or Hot Springs, AR

Yeah trying to imagine a 737 flying low and slow enough for survivors to think waving would do anything vs some kinda turboprop

The derringer door from Harvest HAWK can in theory be put onto just about any aircraft with a pax/cargo cabin w/a pax door, so that on a turboprop something would be my guess...but this whole thing is very weird

The bylines mean I'm sure the sourcing is solid, but the entire story is.........weird
