N8 PROだとN106、VRC7あたりおそらく意図された通りに鳴らないのよね。自分はこの音源まだ使ったことないからいいかげんな発言になるけど

後に「ラグランジュポイント」で使われたFM音源搭載の拡張チップ「VRC7」が、本作などファミコンシューティングでは採用されなかった理由は、やはり「処理速度が大幅に落ちる」ために実用にならなかったんでしょうね。
（「ラグランジュポイント」はアクション性の皆無なRPGのため、問題にならなかった）
あと、このゲーム（ファミコン版）の私の中での最大の不満点は「通常ボスとラスボスの音楽が逆になっている事」です。
この評価は今でも変わりませんし、移植ミスだったにせよ意図的だったにせよ、当時後輩も「なんで曲はちゃんとあるのに、使わないんですかね？」と言っていたので、まあみんな不満だったでしょうね。
（「ラグランジュポイント」はアクション性の皆無なRPGのため、問題にならなかった）
あと、このゲーム（ファミコン版）の私の中での最大の不満点は「通常ボスとラスボスの音楽が逆になっている事」です。
この評価は今でも変わりませんし、移植ミスだったにせよ意図的だったにせよ、当時後輩も「なんで曲はちゃんとあるのに、使わないんですかね？」と言っていたので、まあみんな不満だったでしょうね。

I think I might be a masochist because I love working with soundchips that you have to "fight". Like with vrc7 you really have to fight it to have it not sound like discount Lagrange Point and Master System/GG you just have to fight it to not sound abrasive and ear piercing.

I guess knowing why Konami developed the VRC7 for use in one game may never be possible or how much it cost.
Tiny Toons utilised a different version of the VRC7 without the FM circuitry for even more mysterious reasons.
I guess it was cheaper to redesign than a new mapper.
