Yesterday & today is "Vappu", also known as Walpurgis Night or May Day, which has been celebrated here in some (mostly pagan, pre-Christian) form since the Middle Ages. My friend & I baked yummy smoked salmon buns, drank Vappu mead and went to a cherry blossom park. 🌸˙ᵕ˙

Incredible amounts of blossoming and levels of serendipity. A surprise re-encounter with a friend on the streets turned into a full-evening whirlwind adventure. I made many new friendly connections. My social energy was flowing uninhibited. 🌱🌸✨ Truly the "day of the year", Vappu.
Very much blossoming indeed -- I arrived alone at a social gathering, and then proceeded to speak only in Finnish, and strip naked for sauna with yet-unknown people of various genders. One of the (two (2)) known people at the gathering was a coworker. 🌱
A tough and long day -- but many relationships, both at work and among my friends, received a very healthy amount of nourishment. 😊🌱
