The patterns do no repeat each other. The human figures have their hands raised in greeting; two figures are riding the horses. There are several birds around them. The title of the embroidery is “The welcoming of spring” A square whitework embroidery combining elements of retichello (Italian cutwork embroidery) and punto antico (surface embroidery). The fabric is white and the threads used are cream-coloured. The edge is decorated sparsely with needle-lace elements

Just cutwork, pearl purl, french knots and so forth. I'm working on whitework at the moment (so useful for altar linens, and then maybe I will get on to stumpwork!
