When you’ve learned that safety depends on control and making yourself small.

And it’s exhausting.

Beyond exhausting.

Because your nervous system pays the price - but you don’t get the relief.

If AI was actually so effective as to be inevitable, we wouldn’t have so many people browbeating us with commentary about how inevitable it is.

It took AI to convince me the human soul exists in much the same way it took a bar full of stripper vampires to convince Harvey Keitel that God exists.

Our traumatized nervous system is going to fall right into feeling controlled, trapped, and/or in trouble if we try to force ourselves to do things. Don't try to bully or pressure yourself.

Think I'm going to try this behavior for two minutes, & always leave yourself an out.

Those of you who have been in gamedev for 5yrs+

What do you wish you knew before you joined the industry? What life lesson would you pass down to someone just joining today?

every morning I’m out here making weird joyful noises with my kid while we’re having tea and getting ready for school, and going “look at all this autism”

the autism has enhanced my life, I’m sorry you don’t all get to experience it
theferocity.bsky.social
I don’t exactly how to phrase this, but like… is autism that bad???? Like, why is it such a source of fear??? Of course there are challenges but you can be autistic and have a rich, fulfilling life! Many people do! I don’t understand the preoccupation.

The head of Vancouver’s transit agency can sum its ridership recovery in one word: Frequency.

“Running the bus every 30 minutes isn’t going to cut it if you want to grow ridership.“

Many Vancouver 🚌 run every 5min or less, and the SkyTrain runs every 3-4min, via @davidzipper.bsky.social

I don't like it, but I understand why Christians absolutely refuse to stop saying Pharisee the way they do, despite it being ahistoric and antisemitic.

For believers, it's the word of God, and they refuse to interrogate that. For atheists of a Christian background, it's fiction, so who cares?

If you know basic kabbalah it's actually not too hard to make a golem out of a labubu. Don't recommend it though. They have a pre-existing body-dharma. As soon as they wake they run straight for the sea. V hard to counter. Lost the first one. No idea what it's doing out there. Moved like lightning.

Chappelle in 2022 about him making trans jokes, "The more you say I can’t say something, the more urgent it is for me to say it."

Chappelle at Riyadh in 2025, "it's easier to talk in Saudia Arabia than in the US" (just ignore those who were killed for trying to speak freely)

No shade to any of the Vertigo relaunch writers, but this is what the lineup looks like with me no longer in it, lol.
