Haitians, gay men, and sex workers were historically blamed for the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This scapegoating is rooted in racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and whorephobia. If you happened to be a Haitian gay man engaging in sex work during the 1980s? Good luck.

(2/2) The media and health system have a particular HIV/AIDS "look." Re: those living with HIV/AIDS are portrayed as thin-bodied. But you can be fat and have HIV/AIDS. Your fatness doesn't negate your status, the discrimination you face, nor the care you deserve ❤️
