53/ The pace of research was breakneck and I want to reemphasize that. In about 5 months, it was determined that pure Pu metal would be too hard to shape, and an alloying solution was found. In one more month, a second solution was found when the original was removed for nuclear physics reasons.

Researchers from @HP recently reported HAXPES data of stibnite, a major source of antimony. Antimony is used for a wide variety of applications, often as a flame retardant and as an alloying material for strength.
