The Sculptor galaxy
We seem to be in the cloudy sky season lately. A couple nights ago, I took advantage of few hours of clear skies and took an image of this galaxy. It looks good without any post-processing I think.

As I'm tethered to a catheter at the moment, I haven't been able to get out to take photos, so have to deal with posting old photos or just doing shots from my own backyard. #Atrophotography #NightSky #StarTrail #TimeLapse youtu.be/-Ie7MQ_4VX4

I just can't imagine the people building these concentration camps giving a single flying fuck about light pollution. holy shit "Yeah, we kept the light fixtures at optimal low light levels so the mosquitos are operating at peak efficiency. Also one of our buds down the street does atrophotography."

Such interesting old building, the observatory on the University of Saskatchewan campus. I had an opportunity to teach a few classes on astro photo processing using Siril over the last few weeks. It was an honour and I am looking forward to doing it again later this year! #astronomy#atrophotography

This is what about 800 shots, taken over roughly 2.5 hours looks like when combined.

This is just a sneak peek. Lots of editing to do. I'll post iterative images as I continue the edit

Astrophotography was fine, though I couldn't use the ultrawide at 48MP. I wasn't bothered by the nature of the noise, though I only had time for ~15 shots. Here are 2 full shots and 2 100% crop screenshots showing Andromeda (+0EV) and a house (+3EV to pixel peep). Both 50MP. Note noise reduction.
