Best i could find of a live one (via bcoutdoors dot com) You can definitely see that fish eyes don't have lidlike surrounding structures like the eye on top of that 3-eyed reddit codfish does.
Angler holding up an arrowtooth flounder, a brown flatfish with a large toothy mouth and a left eye which has stopped migrating all the way to the right side of its face as in other flatfishes, and settled on the "top" of its skull, resulting in its having a literal side eye when it's lying on the bottom of the sea
