Actually we expect electricity consumption to double in the next decade, primarily because of data centres. That's why our investment in wind, solar, grid, P2X and Biomethane has been increased a lot
We expect to have phased out coal and natural gas before 2030.

With the Kassø plant and similar Hydrogen and P2X plants we will of course use this surplus wind and solar power wisely, instead of shutting down our turbines and solar panels.

La France aussi (Stelantis) veut annuler l'échéance de 2035.
En Allemagne, ils misent beaucoup sur le biométhane, donc bien sûr qu'ils vont continuer à utiliser du gaz.

Biogas from agriculture plays a big role in the large scale P2X Kassø biomethanol plant⬇️
The biomethane and CO2 is combined with green hydrogen in a reactor created as a cooperation between Danish universities and industry.

Danish households sort waste into separate containers.
Food waste is delivered to biogas plants.
During Xmas we eat a lot of greasy wonderful stuff like duck and pork. Waste from Xmas food waste gives a 60% rise in biogas production. Biomethane today covers 40% of Danish gas consumption. 1/n

The fossil gas industry is happy to undermine substitutes that erode its market.
These:
1. Electric induction heating for high-temperature industrial processes.
2. Biomethane from sewage, animal and crop waste.
3. Gasification of waste streams (plastic, etc).

Would oppose burning biomethane to generate electricity if it included carbon capture and sequestration of the emissions?

I think my equivalent to this would be bioenergy and particularly biomethane.

This list is the top tier members of Bioenergy Australia. It makes you wonder who they are advocating for.

EQT’s 00M Bet on Biomethane: Why the Waga Energy Deal Could Reshape Renewable Gas
Introduction: A Quiet Deal With Loud Implications The global transition toward cleaner energy is often dominated by headlines about solar, wind, and electric vehicles. Yet beneath that noise, a quieter sector is gaining momentum: renewable natural gas, also known as biomethane. A recent acquisition by private equity giant EQT underscores just how strategically important this niche has become. By agreeing to acquire a controlling stake in French biomethane producer Waga Energy, EQT is signaling confidence not only in the technology itself, but also in its ability to scale globally—especially in markets where traditional renewables face political or regulatory headwinds.

Have you heard of the technology Amp has out for sorting recyclables and organic waste?

I like that their focus is on converting the biowaste into biochar more, but biomethane production is okay too.

Yes, we put our food waste in the green bin (yard trash and other bio-solid waste).

We need more food waste diversion to move production of biomethane from inside the landfill to a specific digester. Safer and more efficient too!

That's $400 million wasted. Biomethane is methane, a greenhouse gas more potent than CO2. It leaks at source, during storage, distribution and use.

This not "sustainabilty". It is a false solution and fig leaf for business as usual by the animal killing industry.
