People use CCCU at lot but actually I think more people should look at the university of law, super duper sus, imo.

Partnerships is staggeringly unregulated, and I have no concept of quality in this area, but (quite wisely I think), CCCU acts like it's already regulated for the most part, and so is well-positioned in whatever this area is. I don't know a ton about it and my degree (history) is not involved.

I work at CCCU so I can add a bit of detail. The huge majority of these additional students for us are not on-site, typical full-fee paying, they are 'partnership' students where the actual degree they study is franchised or validated from CCCU, but taught elsewhere.
'11 universities expanded by more than 11,000 students over the past decade, while the three institutions with the biggest growth expanded by more than 20,000 students – BPP University (28,915 more students), Canterbury Christ Church University (22,410) and UCL (21,490).' 3/3

We were treated to a brilliant talk by @cathamclarke.bsky.social at CCCU yesterday: poetry, history, time-travel. It is so good to be reminded of the great scholarship still happening in spite of the absolute shambles of HE at the moment.

I have had a very Norman day today. This morning CCCU hosted and I chaired a round table involving a delegation of tourism people and heritage professionals from Normandy and partners in Kent. This afternoon, teaching third years about the Norman church.

This evening, M.R. James ghost stories!

Literally the first obvious casualties of Kent and CCCU being in serious financial trouble was a number of student bars shutting down as well as quite a few cabbies going out of business.

You can’t complain the education sector doesn’t create the right talent for the games industry if you don’t get out and actively engage with schools, colleges and universities. Today giving a lecture on the business side of game development @ CCCU

Saint Paul would likely wholeheartedly agree:

“I can’t imagine a CCCU school saying we’re going to limit our international students,” said Turk. “This is just not us. This is not what evangelical schools are about. This is not what the church is about.”

++ Canterbury Elect Sarah Mullally will also become chancellor of my university (CCCU). When Welby was installed it was a great opportunity for spotting different religious orders, denominations, faith leaders etc. in the city. Top geekery.

Meanwhile, as ever, the work gets done in the parishes.
