These cameras let us observe vertical movement of the surface of the bogs; from which we can observe if they're a healthy place for wildlife and storing greenhouse gases!

Lovely walk along Smardale Gill Nature reserve. Lots of late summer interest, masses of red admiral butterflies. Introduced grandson to the cottage his great grandfather lived in at about the same age as him!

Had an excellent morning visiting the open prison at #HMPHaverigg. Staff are fantastic & the prisoner rehab activities are very impressive e.g. training, horticulture, woodworking etc Really positive atmosphere. I hope they'll be growing lots of trees for #SkiddawForest #CumbriaWildlifeTrust
