But electoral consequences coming.

Good morning, please can you share this petition by @peatfree.bsky.social to end peat sales - all previous petitions were for the Conservative Government, and we're now close to making this law with Labour so peat habitat can never be used again actnow.peatfreepartnership.org.uk/end-peat-sal...
Sign the petition to end peat sales!
No more delays: Let's get peat out of gardens once and for all. The time for uncertainty has ended.

The Scottish Parliament shames the English Government ... a simple, low cost but effective measure for #swifts
Well done Mark. Thank you. Swifts need all the help they can get.
I’m delighted that my amendment to give swifts a home has won through with x-party support today 🎉
Many thanks to @writerhannahbt @rspbscotland and thousands of individuals who campaigned with me 💚

Chris is right... my favourite as I haven’t seen it before was the swimming mole on a rapidly rising tide on a Cheshire Saltmarsh.
CEO Chris' favourite wildlife programme this year was Hamza Yassin's wonderful BBC series Hidden Wild Isles (some was filmed on one of our nature reserves, & he worked with Trustee, filmmaker David Plummer too). Catch it on iPlayer 📷 Nigel Kingston

$2.2 trillion is about half the annual healthcare spend of the USA

There's also a further cost of approx $640bn ecological damage

Yes. @brianecambs.bsky.social Same issue on #Hadrian’sWall - evidence @vindolandatrust.bsky.social that organic artefacts are degrading & being lost as peat dries. Strong suspicions that rewetting & restoration of peat & organic soils will reduce rates of decomposition @bogtrotter2024.bsky.social
