Doesn't really work for me though since YouTube censorship is so bad that I might as well watch returns of network television police procedurals. At least you're allowed to hear the word "kill" in those without an YouTuber pissing his pants afraid he'll get demonetized and lose $.35 of ad rev.

I wouldn't even mind paying for premium if it wasn't too expensive and if I had some reassurance that the creators I watch will actually get the money. But they can still be demonetized for copyright reasons, so I choose not to pay youtube and just donate to the creators I like directly.

The take here is the same as ever: capitalism ruins everything.
If people could just make videos without worrying about how much money it's going to make them, we wouldn't have sponsored segments, mid-roll ads, or self-censorship to avoid getting demonetized.

I have come to realize that many social media app owners are compromised by Israel and its propaganda machine. I lost my X account for returning the favor to a Jewish guy who was mocking Palestinians. One Christian guy's page was demonetized on YouTube for exposing Israel.How many people does Israel

Funny story: back when I was still able to earn a bit from videos, I once titled one to include the words 'not clickbait!' - and it was immediately demonetized. I removed those words, and BAM, instant green dollar sign.

I've been doing daily uploads of games that feature some pretty rough content and don't mince my words, and the only stuff that has ever been demonetized (and never removed) are anything with jiggly bits

They’re actually aren’t required to say that though. people just assumed that trying to read the tea leaves of the opaque tik tok algorithm and people started doing it on other platforms with no evidence because they’re worried about being demonetized.
