this looks nice. is the left button on the "dpad" bothersome bc of the grip overlap sitting so close?

I.e. from this image, it looks like I DID get the right sticks... but my DPad looks as if it came from the SN30

As I am looking at my Pro, I don't think I got quite the right sticks for them. Should be the color of the DPad and Start/Select. But they match the frame around the face buttons, so... close enough

I really, really enjoyed it. The setup for each game was a nightmare, but once working it was a dream. Most games don't use key chords, but I could set that up myself. Having dozens of face-button commands was so good for my hands.

But only for specific titles: older games *need* a dpad.

Hold the Left M1 button and press up on the dpad to bring up the keyboard to enter your pin if you need to.

My review of the PADBOX GS

A controller/leverless hybrid, sporting a microswitch dpad and dual analog sticks!

It's precise enough for fighting games, flexible enough to be used with many other genres:

people usually say that the model 2 controller is better than the model 1 controller and that the model 1 controller has a terrible dpad and bad shoulder buttons. but in my personal experience, I think the model 1 controller is just okay, not good, not terrible, just okay.

And some of the players I would bet are amazing at platformers or shooters or racing but the moment you're looe "Hold up and right on the dpad to jump forward," deer in headlights...
But that's a challenge to work on as I design the game.

It really makes you hate on the switch dpad knowing how damn good Nintendo made dpads.

Also that thing is in excellent shape.

Don’t worry about the confusion lots of people confuse this with the Pokémon mini. This was just more popular.

Any # GodotEngine experts happen to know why Godot doesn't register MagicX Mini Zero 28 console's dpad as any input events. Sticks and most of other buttons show up without an issue. Dpad also works fine on other Android apps.

The worst thing about ZA is how it changed throwing your pokemon out to be up and down on the dpad instead of toggling what ZR does like in Arceus.

The number of times I’ve just thrown a pokeball trying to send Tepig to tackle a mega crystal is absurdly high I will never learn.

After watching my opps continuously backdash out of my offense, I think my next step in my journey is learning how to kbd. Only down side is my dpad is kinda cooked rn. (Been dropping lots of combos lately 🥲) gonna treat it like throw breaks and focus on slow and correct rather than fast and wrong

It’s those controls and the massive levels. It really shouldn’t need more than 3 buttons to play. And you need a good dpad. I kept shifting non-stop from the dpad to the analog stick. Just a weird control scheme.

That’s what I’m playing with. I think the issue is more I have trouble using the lil dpad on the gun con two. It’s weird in that you go 3rd person to 1st to fire but back to move.

I hear it also has mouse controls too.

I've never used an NES controller, and before buying my SNES I hadn't used an SNES one in years either. And every Nintendo cross dpad I've tried from the Wii onwards has been crap, so I always wondered why people loved them. Then I bought my SNES and was like "Oh, yeah, these used to be great".

Realised that my wee SNES pad also allows me to play these with a dpad that doesn't make me hate myself. Let's have a wee go at the clear.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4

Great!
GB4 has a lot of buttons and button combinations but you can extensively customize them.

You frequently need to hold down a shoulder button and face button for skill shortcuts, but after remapping skill modifiers to the dpad I was flowing between weapons easily.

「Ground Zero demo」
Strong first impression. Captures the old survival horror feeling very well, in structure and aesthetic. Only complaint I have is why can't I use the dpad for tank controls?

I have a bone to pick with you, Bubsy 4D:

the option to enabled tank controls and "play it like classic Bubsy" is just a low-effort joke! The turn rate is piss-slow, the right stick AND dpad are totally unused, there's no way to sidestep, etc etc

I won't take this tank controls slander! lawyer up
