It's not every year that we see a complete Wagner opera released so gratitude is in order. This is very much Senta's Holländer, with an outstanding Lisa Davidsen. Gerald Finlay is less the thunderbolt I like to hear in the title role but he compensates for that with a beautiful interpretative skill.

(The NJC is what let me realize Shota just cannot sell & that's the whole issue - Finlay fought him and Yuya basically back to back and the contrast finally let me pinpoint what bothered me so much about Shota's work)

I really disagree, he's been outstanding the past two years especially. I really don't think Yota Tsuji improved as much as he had if he hadn't fought Finlay so many times.

The (kayfabe) Finlay/Jay heat way precedes Bullet Club though, that was one of the very first things Jay did. (and they have such incredible match chemistry)
