I'm neck deep in work, so I set a time so I'd remember to take a #FreelanceChat break!

Is there a way to follow your FreelanceChat list? I’m not finding how to do so, will dig around so more as time permits or may have to make my own…

I can see posts in the feed and in the FreelanceChat list, but nothing since your post yesterday when you search the hashtag. or not so far...

Thanks for the explanation. I never would have guessed that. I simply do not retain acronyms. I thought it was like Association of Freelance something.

I've had issues with them splitting but they are meaty. Great for making sauces. I had a couple that were bigger than this.

Last I grew so many things that I was overwhelmed. I didn't finish cleaning everything up until mid-November. I was completely burnt out, and two months later it all started again. I don't think I ever got past it because I haven't really been into it this year, like years past.

So very true! We HAVE to juggle all the things, and weave in some self-care too! I'm a writer and a pumpkin farmer, dog mom, gal-who-floats-in-a-tube-on-a-lake, chaser of 5 yr old twins (not mine) and so much more!

It's only lists journalists. It's basically a database for PR people to find journalists to pitch story ideas.

This chat is wonderful and helped me get my freelance business off the ground four years ago (as #FreelanceChat on Twitter, not there anymore).

Advice, special guests, stories, and good humour — definitely worth attending!

#FreelanceFriends
There's a new weekly chat for freelancers on Bluesky. It's called #FreelanceFriends & we meet on Thursdays at noon EST.

Join us on June 19 as we chat about embracing elasticity and adaptability in small business. Sometimes we have to change how we think about work, and what we do!

@stebbinsmatt.bsky.social Are you worried that developers are going to ruin McCall? When I saw that developers had plans for the area, it made me scared for those who live there.

We talk about how to find compelling stories in B2B sectors like construction, engineering, and manufacturing, and why these industries offer a sea of potential riches for marketers willing to dig that bit deeper.

I met Michelle online through the #FreelanceChat community that grew on Twitter.

The latest episode of my podcast went live this morning and it's one I've repurposed from my guest appearance on
@prisus.bsky.social Michelle Garrett's PR Explored show on LinkedIn.

We talked all things marketing and PR for so-called "boring" industries.

To me, community is a group of chosen folk who either share a common interest, location or circle of people. At it's best, community has looked like groups such as #freelanceChat and now #FreelanceFriends. People who choose to be a part of your journey for a while.
Q1: What does community mean to you, and what does it look like at its best? #FreelanceFriends

Dear Don / @dondingee.bsky.social:

On behalf of the #FreelanceFriends community, sincere condolences to you and your family. Thank you so much for sharing Nix with us these past years with FreelanceChat and now FreelanceFriends.

#FreelancePets
Apologies to #FreelanceFriends crew. We were with a mobile vet guiding Nix across the bridge this morning. Blessing to have a service in the comfort of our living room. He's with his brother now—that's Nix on the left and Beaux on the right (same mom, different litters). Good boy, job well done.

A3: The most helpful resource I've found is chatting and learning 1:1 with other freelancers.

Still friends with, and learning from, peeps from the old #FreelanceChat days at The Other Place.

Hopefully that happens here too, with #FreelanceFriends!

Angela, I just inspected your code. I think it has to do with the attributes of the container you're re writing/pasting into. Look at that, as it will take precedent over your other formatting. Basically, that means each headed section is meant to be in its own box. #FreelanceChat

I used to also use Salesforce for a non-profit I assisted.
Maybe a free, slim version? It was good "back in the day"....

I enjoyed using my client's salesforce account. Nice interface and my brain worked the way it was set up. I didn't always have to stop and think, now what am I trying to do here? #FreelanceChat

AI hallucination is a hot topic in SABR right now, it's hilariously bad at some answers.

The biggest problem I see is you may not be able to tell where the answer came from so you do almost as much leg work to check it out.

#FreelanceChat
That's a really good point that AI hallucination is accepted, and people just shrug about it as if it's the price we pay for convenience. #FreelanceFriends

Thanks for doing this heavy lifting behind the scenes!
And many thanks to everyone who has contributed to the planning and execution of this new chat!

Right! I have so many thoughts about the newspaper industry. The changes make me sad. But I've landed in a good place and have clients who appreciate my reporting skills.

And @sandyhubbard.bsky.social - any help/guidance you can give is greatly appreciated. I'm really hoping to see more people bravely step up and host a week. Love hearing more about and from these great people.
