Today's #ski in #GatineauPark was my 16th of the #winter and was 10 km from P16 in the Meech Valley to Healey Cabin and back. I have now done 163 km this winter and still hoping to reach 200 km before it all melts.

Healey was deserted & cold today, I was there early.

Today was a 10 km solo #ski in #GatineauPark from P7 on Trails 30, 31 and 1 to Shilly Shally and back. It is warmer this week and was about -6°C or so while skiing, calling for warmer weather gear.

This was ski #15 and 153 km for the season!

Today's #ski in #GatineauPark was this winter's 14th for me! After looking at the trail grooming map I decided to ski P10 - Fortune Parkway - Champlain Parkway - Huron Cabin - Fortune Parkway - P10, for 10 km covered. The falling snow was just a bonus. No sunburn.

Here are some photos from today's #ski. This was 15 km on a new route I had never done before: P17 - Trail 53 - Trail 52 to the Trail 50 intersection and back again. Trail 52 has some impressive hills and the signage to go with them.

Here are some photos from my #ski today in #GatineauPark. This was a ski with a friend and we did 12 km from P10 - Huron Cabin via the parkways - Trail 1 and back down the escarpment to P10. This was about 1000 ft of vertical.

Some photos from my #ski today in #GatineauPark. This was a solo ski, so I chose a recently opened and more challenging route: P16 - Trail 50 - Trail 36 to Hope Beach and back. This is 12 km round trip and lots of vertical!

This is the departure route from the parking lot, P16, down on Trail 50, across the Meech Creek Bridge and then up about 800 feet to Trail 36. Snow-covered trees on Trail 36 Gatineau Park is not just trees, ya know, some of it is rocks, too. Trail 50 at the top of the Earley Escarpment, where it meets Trail 36 (left).

Here are some scenes from my #ski today, 10 km round trip from P16 to Herridge Cabin. Temperature about -16C and windchill -26, at least in the parking lot. Most of skiing is in the trees, though.

The bridge over the Meech Creek The Meech Valley and creek This is the starting point at P16, all downhill to the bridge and then all uphill to the Eardley Escarpment. The NCC is well-known for its signposts.

Here is a look at another one of #GatineauPark shelters. This one is an old 19th century house named Herridge for its former owner. The wood stove was not lit and it was pretty cold in there, but I did do photos of both floors.

Also for @bibliophile99.bsky.social here is a look at a second and much smaller cabin, Shilly Shally. Yes this is a good place to "dilly dally" but it is also a "chalet".

At least there was no one there when I dropped by!

I did a solo #ski today from P7 in #GatineauPark to Shilly Shally and back on Trails 30 & 1. With a couple of fresh cm of new #snow it was a bit sticky, but the hills were easy to navigate.
