His cloak design is based on the banded tiger moth and he's from a distant land so, fear not!, it isn't infection you're seeing in those eyes but his lifecore. It's a nod to both his original design and moths' love of light.

forlorn. In the depths of the forest is a tree—his tree—grand and ancient and sprawling, with young branches that reach for the endless sky above and long ones that weep with age. It glitters under the sun and moon alike, bright with hanging sea glass, broken bits of mirror and shining metals, with ribbons both vivid and faded, and strings of stones and beads and bones and other things that clatter in the breeze. Wyst brings it nice things so it's not lonely when it's alone, and so he remembers that there are others out there, who might also think of him when they are here alone together.

He can't drown it out—he's drowning, he's losing himself beneath them, losing his place in the moment. In the world- Gently, hands press him back into himself, warm and sure as the voice in his ear. "Center." They're on the point where jaw hinges with throat and on his chest—or maybe in it. They're a solid, steady pillar at his back as he picks apart the tangle of self and other. It's enough. Just enough. "...I should name you for a god and worship you." Laughter huffs out, scraping low. "You would never." "No," he murmurs. Then, "I might, when it gets worse." "Today was worse. You need rest." Ani squints at the pages scattered before him, ancient and faded and mostly useless. The light he'd summoned is gone, he can't remember when, and the lantern is guttering. He has candles- somewhere. Thyst is right, of course, but they both know what waits within his dreams—the thing that haunts the one place Thyst has found no purchase. "I'm fine." He gathers everything with a careless wave and shoulders his small pack. "Just need to move a bit." The hands slip away in a gesture that reads disappointment, slip away into the void he carved out to make room. Ani hunches against the chill that reclaims his back. "Soon, then." "Soon...sure." A sketch of a miqote with his ears laid back. He sighs, squinting at something below him.
