Made a crossbow for my kid. 3x 9mm plywood, quick paper template, jigzaw and orbital sander. If I knew it came so elegant I wouldn't used screws but more clamps to hold the gluing.
How is PVC, I have still one blank to try to make a better one. This works well for intended use but bit lumpy.

Do jigzaw puzzles work for you at all? There's a free online series that has thousands; the default is about 200 pieces, so they can be done mindlessly, but you can change that to many more pieces, so you have to concentrate on that alone.

The ultimate would be to use the zero-tol manufacturing techniques to make "seamless" pop-up headlights, so when they are closed you cannot even tell.
