We’re officially My Green Lab Certified! 🌿🌍 After implementing key improvements across 12 sustainability categories, our lab boosted its score from 45% to an outstanding 93%, earning the top certification level available.

Let's start here with some good news!
The @raunser-lab.bsky.social is one of the first 2 labs in the @maxplanck.bsky.social to be certified by my green lab! The lab team included a couple of sustainable best practices, like changing/reducing consumables, saving liquid nitrogen... #LabSustainability

Biggest take away for me when evaluating #labsustainability is that having rigorous safety measures is good for sustainability too. Ex: closing fume hoods not only protects you, it also saves money due to air ventilation running lower.
P.S. caveat: biggest diff. for multiple fume hoods/room only
