#magnoliawatch on my street in #ptbo These trees took a beating in the ice storm, but are determined to bloom!
Tulip magnolias on a fine old tree: variegated pink buds in various states of pre-bloom. The saddest ice storm damage: photo of a magnolia tree - once the largest and most magnificent on the street : now down to two scattered limbs. In the background, a nice old 2.5 storey red brick house with white gingerbread trim, and a Canadian flag. A star magnolia tree in full bloom - pinky white flowers - and you can see that the tree is being supported in an upright position by 3 straps (wrapped around another tree, out of frame). The sketchy looking tulip magnolia in front of my house: lots of tightly closed pinky buds in the lower branches and some evidence of damage higher up.
