Every semester I make my students trace the same stack of rocks… #vector #raster #adobeIplustrator #pentool #meshtool #clippingmask #blendtool #gradient

If you start with cubegrid and bevel etc with something else like Meshtool or Scythe it's good. It's just mesh after all

Currently, combining cubegrid and meshtool. Soon: Scythe

Oh! Totally, Blender's your next-best option so far as I'm aware. Unity doesn't really have a MeshTool equivalent. ProBuilder's the closest, but for a variety of reasons, it's just. Ehhhh. Not really a thing I'd use heavily in the same way as part of level design.

Yeah!

Dunno if you're Unreal yet, but if you are, check out MeshTool. It has a hotspotter built in, which means you can mesh out levels in an extremely Source 2 kinda way if you want.

...removing landmasses I wasn't even sure about what to do with it. Good for worldbuilding, good for me.

Now after all the cutting, pasting, and using the meshtool, it is time to start illustrating it, for real. I am terrified, but also very, very excited.

3D seems far from ready. There’s no equivalent of Unity’s Umodeler or Unreal’s Meshtool, which have pretty good 3D modelling support with auto UVs and mesh slicing.
