#parent–#child
I guess you could ask if she's talked to her parents about it? Every parent has reasons for continuing the myth and even if a child knows he isn't real it can still be a fun way to receive presents? idk, as soon as I knew I got way more involved in giving presents and that was really joyful for me.

So, single parent with very young child, uncertain business, studies, uncertain job situation, I think you'd be in a minority of people if you DIDN'T have recognizable consequences of several types of stress in that situation.

As a parent, you're first question when you're watching a movie with a creepy haunted/alien/demonic child is "Okay but how did the parents notice?"
Little girl in a shop: Mum?
Her mum: Yes?
Girl: There’s an old woman who talks but with no sound, and has a sad face. She tries to tell you things but you can’t see.
Mum: Where?
Girl (points at floor): Always there.
Mum: Well darling, that’s terrifying. Let’s go eat dinner.

An excellent video from Fern. Her book was invaluable to me as the parent of an AuDHD child.

If the money we donate helps one child or can ease the pain of one parent, those funds are well spent.

The child cried, as the parent scolded, in tones of judgment an dissapointmdnt.
As the child sobd in confusion..
The Fox watched the lifetime of memories, cluster an crashed, shatter an rebuild,
As the entity desperately tried to understand the cause of this new displeasure..

The parent then gave the fork back to the child.
But placed in a cup of strange sticky green goo..
That felt absolutely unpleasent when placed in the hair as it resumed petting itself,
Having assumed the parent was trying to help with its self comfort an pleasure.
Only to be scolded yet again...

But as the child was enjoying a moment of self petting, mimicing somone brushing their hair across the room.
With a device it only today bore witness..
It's parent, scolded it in ways it didn't understand.
It knew the tone was bad, but context lacking.
The parent took the fork away.
The child cried.

It’s not hard to see why: I’m a parent, I taught high school for decades, so also a professional child carer, I am a Science Educator, so know and understand the science involved, and I’m a trans person who has suffered because of ignorance and bigotry.

1) would shipping Umamusume count as RPF?
2) ergo, would shipping Teio and Rudolf be problematic considering they’re parent & child IRL, or not since they’re unrelated and both teenagers in-game

This isn't just me overreacting.

As a parent of a young child and as someone who has to be careful with sensitive themes myself, I have an extremely vested interest in safe media environments.

AI censorship is an absolutely terrible response to that challenge.

I keep thinking about how it's a cliche now that a parent should not have to live to see the death of their child, and how different that is from the rest of human history.

If a child cannot place implicit confidence in his parent, most assuredly no confidence can be reposed in the child.

On one hand, a vaccine that prevents one form of cancer in the future, on the other hand your child could have sex when s/he is a teenager or an adult.

Cancer doesn't sounds so bad for a conservative parent if you see it that way! Right? Right?

The Puritan idea that you can't touch anyone you're not in a romantic or parent/child relationship with—especially as a man—is one of the most pernicious in our society, and I think leads to a lot of antisocial behavior.

Hug your bros. Consensually, obviously, but *hug your bros*.

What so many people get wrong about wanting to have a child is they make it about them becoming parents. It’s not. It’s about bringing a human being into the world. Making it about the parents and not the child is missing the most crucial part of being a parent.

Vaccines don’t cause autism. Every time that false narrative is repeated, it reinforces stigma and undermines evidence-based care for autistics, explains Greg Scaduto, a parent of an autistic child.
