Hennig called this substance 'phosphoros', from Greek "light-bearer" (phōs = light, phoros = bearer, also a reference to Lucifer) & he set about trying to purify it.

the title Elpiphoros is sorta like, a combination of the root word for Hope and the root *name* of Christopher. the "phoros" and "opher" are different types of the same name. so rather than being a name similar to One of Christ, Elpiphoros means One of Hope. a light that cant go out
