#renSA2025
🧵14/14 Of course, in between #shax2025 & #rensa2025 events were the incidental conversations, introductions, coffees, political commentaries, drinks, generous offers from established scholars, exciting news, commiserations, & much laughter. Thank you, all & sundry, until next time, hopefully soon!

🧵11/? Next, I was back at #rensa2025. In Reading Bodies, Lucy Boon, Kate Flaherty, @ohwowbee.bsky.social & Hannah Upton spoke compellingly about generatively queer performance, corporeal/figurative books in drama, prophetic feelings & marginalia &/as pedagogy, chaired by @claireghansen.bsky.social.
March 28, 2025 at 8:15 AM
🧵7/? Next, I crossed over through the warren-like mall connecting several hotels to the #rensa2025 panel on non-elite women's writing. It was a delight to hear from the panelists about controversial 1660s Baptist hymns, amatory marginalia, spiritual meditations, & memoir as maternal remembrance.

It was a whirlwind of odd travel hiccoughs to get back to Sydney from the combined #shax2025 and #RenSA2025 in Boston. Having shaken off only about half of the jetlag, here are some thoughts and thank yous: (🧵1/?)

I chatted with @onthetudortrail.bsky.social about monsters and monster-making in the sixteenth century, on the Talking Tudors #podcast! If you weren't able to get to my monster panel at #RenSA2025 #Shax2025, this might appeal.

Had a whirlwind of a week at #Shax2025/#RenSa2025 — from participating in my first SAA seminar on the wonderfully generative idea of the ruderal, to listening and learning to so many brilliant papers, to capping it all off with some dubious dance moves… Thanks Boston, you were a blast!

Huzzah! Feeling wonderfully earlymodern just a day after #RenSA2025 throwing tea chest replicas into Boston harbor at Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. #Bostonteaparty #earlymodernsky

#Shax2025 / #RenSA2025 highlights— Todd Borlik on Macbeth and environmental law; Lauren Robertson, @rentravailer.bsky.social, and Alyssa Mulé with distinct angles onto temporality, inevitability/resistance, and imperial Rome; @victoriammunoz.bsky.social on Seneca in Spanish and English imperialism.

What a joy to take part in the "Intimate Knowledges" #RenSA2025 roundtable and the "Personation" #SAA2025 seminar -- such rich conversations. Very grateful to the organizers and my fellow participants (& our auditors!) for their intellectual generosity

I’m leaving the joint #RSA2025 #SAA2025 conference invigorated, inspired, and exhausted in the best way possible. I’ve been looking forward to the combined conference for years, and it did not disappoint! #RenSa2025

I’m really sorry I couldn’t honor my commitment to the #RSA and the #RenSA2025 organization to volunteer this morning. I hadn’t experienced this issue with the car before and had no reason to expect it. I was making good time and was already only about an hour away from Boston when it happened.

Tonight at 4:30! Come talk with Julia Lupton, Donovan Sherman, Patrick Gray, Douglas Clark, and me about Intentionality in Shakespeare & early modern life. Would love to see you there! #RenSA2025 #RSA2025 #Shax2025
