“Quicker and easier" fines won’t clean up our rivers.💩

£500,000 fines are pocket change to billion-pound polluters like Thames Water. 😡 💷

It’s time for the government to END the failed privatisation model & bring in real reform. #RescueBritainsRivers

Fining firms for sewage spills will get 'quicker and easier', says government
The plans would see automatic fines for some offences and the burden of proof lowered for others.

🚫 For years, wet wipes have clogged sewers, fuelled fatbergs & choked our rivers.

Removing plastic wipes from shelves is progress — but a partial ban won’t fix the problem.

Plastic or not, wet wipes don’t belong in our waterways.

🗑️Bin the wipes; protect our rivers!

💷 £10 million upgrade. Zero improvement.😡

Last week, #citizenscientist Angela Jones recorded the highest pollution levels ever at the Usk sewage treatment works.👇

THIS is why citizen science matters. An “upgrade” that entrenches pollution is NOT progress.
