A ring-billed gull flying over Lake Michigan. It is facing right and looking down as if about to swoop down for a bite to eat. The wings are just above its head, causing shadows on its face. The wings are grey closer to the body, but black on the outer edges. Its body is white with a greyish head and an orange beak with a black ring at the tip. There is some mottling on the neck and lower head. The legs are yellow and hanging straight down and the bird has a short, tapered tail with black on the end.
