Working a shortened #SaturdayLibrarian shift because I took the morning off to rehearse for the Christmas cantata, and remembering that last year, when I did the same thing, I was at work for less than two hours before going home on incident pay after a guy I asked to stop swearing threw things.

Technically I was not working public service on the quiet floor, I was running a program in the conference room, so I made the dance practice that had decided to set up shop there the manager-in-charge's problem. I believe she humanely relocated them. #SaturdayLibrarian #LibrarianProblems

She stood around looking confused for several minutes so I found a manager because it seemed like, if she didn't fly off when someone walked out the close door, we might need to call our local raptor rescue. But then she flew up to the top of our fence so probably okay? #SaturdayLibrarian

It's my turn as the #SaturdayLibrarian this week and I headed over to Cherry Hinton Library this morning to give them a hand running our Virtual Reality experience sessions. Everybody really enjoyed themselves and it was a nice change to be able to walk to work!

I'm an academic librarian, but just got to help some kids. One had some books on snakes. I mentioned that my nephew went through a Dragon phase, and really loved "Dragons love tacos." The boys lit up and said they really liked it too! Feels good to make a connection. #LibraryLife #SaturdayLibrarian
