My guess is the latter. Most of these strongman leaders only have to voice some half-formed thought and they have underlings falling all over themselves to do the leader's will — that's where they direct all their creative energy. They lower themselves into the trash can with relish.

i absolutely do not, did not ever want "abs" & the time/energy investment of such trivial cosmetics (bc brittle gymbods don't win e.g. strongman competitions) is just appalling to me. i look at some of the actors in cape movies & all i can think is "do they ever get to do anything besides work out?"

One thing I always notice watching old films is that beauty standards for men have really skyrocketed in a way I'd probably be mad about if I were male. Used to be if you had all your teeth and didn't look like you'd spent the night in a bin they'd put you in a movie and call you a sex symbol!
