*hums in Art Nouveau*

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of my OCs The Watchers (two of my OCs, small creatures with no faces under their hoods, mouse-like ear bumps, robes, and gold hands). Their robes are a brighter orange than usual.
Top left is a white text box with lettering (all text is hand lettered) that says:
“I PUT MY OCs THROUGH SO MUCH…”.
The left Watcher is facing right, and has their hood pulled all the way over their head, and their ear bumps are flat on their head. Their right hand is facepalming their hood (who knows if there’s a face under there; not us!), their left hand at their side. They have huge feathery wings in red, blue, and yellow, like a macaw. They are saying “She’s still obsessed with Anton Seder, isn’t she?!!”.
The right Watcher is facing left, and looking over their shoulder at their wings and robe. Their hood looks startled; their ear bumps are straight out to either side. They have wings like fish fins, with long neon green ribs with pink spotted skin in between. They are saying “Sweet Prophet, WTF am I WEARING?!!!”.
Both sets of wings were inspired by the work of Art Nouveau artist Anton Seder.
I love breaking the fourth wall (Bob says they’re 2D, so it’s the third wall, but I’m not listening. La, la, la.)
Background is sand and deep blue sky dotted with stars.

The Watchers take their duties as alarm clock to The Prophet very seriously. The song, on the other hand… The Watchers do love the Anderson Sisters.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of my OCs, The Watchers (mysterious dimension-hopping robed creatures with gold wings -usually- and hands, but no visible faces)(they might not have faces; they might be sentient robes, we have no idea), standing back to back, playing brass instruments.
The Watcher on the left is facing left, playing a trombone. Their wings are red bat wings with gold claws on the end of each rib.
The Watcher on the right is playing a trumpet, and their wings are feathery and beautiful, partially raised, behind the left Watcher.
There are bent black musical notes outlined in white on either side of the Watchers, suggesting they are playing very badly. They are supposed to be playing to wake up The Mouse Prophet, who is off-page to the right, yelling (shown by a spiky speech bubble outlined in black and silver lines, with fancy letters): “SNOOZE, FOR ME’S SAKE, SNOOZE!!!”.
(There is no snooze button on The Watchers, but The Prophet regularly crushes actual alarm clocks, so The Watchers fill in, like the excellent assistants they are!)
Under The Watchers is purple drawn text that says “MORNING, ALARMED.”.
The ground is beige, the sky is deep blue with white dot stars, and there is strong light coming from the left like a rising sun, throwing a long shadow from The Watchers to the right.

But! I finished The Watchers enjoying Earth (U.S.) prom! So much polyester satin! Trans-coded balloon arch! Terrible themes! Ah, the 1980s.😁

A marker and ink drawing of my OCs The Watchers (TW), two faceless hooded creatures with gold hands and wings, but no faces (we still don’t know if they have any!).
The Watchers are at an Earth (probably US) prom, standing under a balloon arch of pink, blue, and white balloons, under a purple and silver sign that says “PROM ‘87: MOON DAZE!”.
The left Watcher is wearing their light brown robe with a huge blue satin bow tie, and a ruffled blue shirt front. They have their arms crossed, and the shape of their hood face gives the impression they are sulking. They have a speech balloon on the left, saying “I wanted to wear the prom dress! *grumble*”.
The right Watcher is wearing a bright pink satin dress over their light brown robe, a prom dress in the high-waist empire style, with puffed upper sleeves with triangle-shaped lower sleeves (like their robe, but pink!). There is a deeper pink sash at waist level, and a flared skirt with a ruffle around the base. The ruffle is edged with a line of ribbon and bows in the same pink as the sash, with a matching bow attached to their hood by their right ear. They are turned slightly left, towards the other Watcher, and they have a speech bubble on the right, saying “you can wear it next week, ok? Now, where is my corsage?” (They heard about corsages, and are intrigued. There will probably be bones involved).
The background is deep blue, like the photo background for proms, and covered in silver stars. The carpet is dark red, like a hotel carpet. A small sign on a stand is partially visible on the far left, saying “PHOTO LINE HERE”, with an arrow pointing down.
This was inspired by a repost going round that asked to see people’s OCs in different outfits. I asked various OCs, and The Watchers said yes, but they fooled me; they just put the clothes on over their robes. Whether they have bodies, or are just sentient robes remains unanswered.
(Prom is delightful to TWs; the angst is delicious and full of Watcher nutrients!)

A marker, ink, and paint pen cartoon of my OCs, The Watchers (small faceless creatures in robes, with gold hands and wings, though right now, one of them has red dragon wings), and Death, holding their traditional scythe.
Death is facing right, looking at The Watcher with red dragon wings, who is pointing at the other Watcher, who is reaching for Death’s scythe.
Title is top left in the image, outlined in gold ink:
“DEATH TAKES A WRONG TURN…”.
The red-winged Watcher is saying to Death: “Yeah, turn left at the Crab Nebula, and you’re there. Um… you might want to keep an eye on your scythe…”.
The gold-winged Watcher (who aaaaaallllmost has their hands on the scythe) is saying “Spoilsport.”.
Death is almost twice as tall as The Watchers, and is wearing a dark grey robe. Their skeletal face, neck vertebrae, and skeletal hands are visible.
The sky is dark blue and filled with stars and galaxies. The ground is grey-green and flat.
Even Death is not safe from The Watchers’ shenanigans! Naughty little things!

This WAS fun! 😀 It took me about 20 hours altogether, & I space out my “things on shelves” drawings, b/c they’re a lot of work (by comparison, most drawings take between 4-7 hrs).
The Prophet has a very large library. 🤨

A marker, ink, & paint pen drawing of my OCs, The Watchers (TW), two supernatural robed creatures with gold hands & wings, robed so that their faces (we think they don’t have any!) are covered, showing only the mouse-like ear bumps on their heads.
Left TW is lying on the second shelf down, gold feathered wings folded on their back, leaning on their elbows, looking at right TW, who is reaching for a book on the top shelf (Really Wicked Spells), trying to use their gold, blue, & yellow dragon wings to reach it (their feet do not touch the ground.)(Actually, their feet aren’t visible…).

The left W is saying (in speech bubble): “…Asked The Prophet for new wings, huh? I TOLD you to wait until AFTER the summoning, “Smaug”!”.
The right W is replying (in speech bubble) “Oh, shut up.”.
The bookcase is brown wood. All the books have joke titles (like How to Knit Dr. Wu’s Cardigan!).
Top shelf, L-R: a mysterious glowing machine, 13 books, a wooden box with a gold lock that has a cobweb & a mouse skull set on top, a three-eyed, fanged, skull under a glass dome, 11 books about Cryptids.

3rd shelf, L-R: a box with air holes & 2 labels (DO NOT OPEN!, & CONTENTS: ONE CAT (MAYBE)) marked Schrödinger Animal Distribution, 7 books, a gold machine with black legs that has a glass top containing a large eye & smaller eyes on stalks, 2 books (Tiny Mobile Death Ray!), right TW’s body, 3 books.
Bottom shelf, L-R: 22 books, the rest covered by right TW.
Don’t worry, TWs are inseparable! And The Prophet will probably give them new wings soon(ish).
TWs are in the library of The Mouse Prophet (also my OC). The book titles reference my other OCs, monsters, magic, & parodies of real books.

As you can probably tell, this took me the entire day to draw. References: TigerStrawberry/iStock for the left Watcher’s wings, and The Sforza Hours (late 1400s) for the right Watcher’s wing. So. Many. Books.
