After a soft launch in the last couple of weeks, #wmatrix version 7 is now completely freely available worldwide for academic users plus UK government and NHS email addresses. This is the largest revision of the software since it was created 25 years ago: ucrel.lancs.ac.uk/wmatrix/

That’s simply not true - reform of council tax is a long-standing Green Party policy, e.g. see page 42 of their 2015 General Election manifesto.

There's an explanation of the key differences (including much larger corpora & multilingual analysis in #wmatrix version 7) here: ucrel-wmatrix7.lancaster.ac.uk If you are a #wmatrix V5 user, then you should save your data and reload it into the new version. V5 is expected to be retired next month.

Starmer's now famous 10 pledges weren't his. He nicked them from Corbyn's 2019 manifesto. I bought a copy, I recognised them! 😂

Just catching up on social media now that I'm back in Japan. Lovely to see you at #CL2025 as always. Thank you for the great workshop, too. Congrats on the new release of #WMatrix.

Here’s the last manifesto which 10.2 million people backed us to win on.

Explain what’s awful then.

Dear @perayson how can I get access to #wmatrix in order to generate c-grams of two specialized corpora that I'm working on for an article?

Er, no - this is long-standing Green Party policy, e.g. from the 2015 General Election manifesto (page 7):
“Respect immigrants for the contribution they make and control immigration fairly.”
Zack is just really good at articulating Green Party policy.

The 2019 Labour manifesto included a pledge to "Ensure that the single-sex-based exemptions contained in the Equality Act 2010 are understood and fully enforced in service provision." Which was plainly a dog whistle for exactly what the EHRC is doing right now.
