Coal-fired power plants are essentially steam engines - a technology abandoned by railroads in the 1950s and 1960. They are outdated, expensive to run and maintain, and cannot easily respond to fluctuations in electricity demand.

The obsession with economic output as a measure of human development puts sustainability on the back burner. Researchers can now help to devise better indicators.
More than one-third of Americans can't legally or physically drive, belong to households that can't afford a car, or otherwise can't rely on a personal vehicle to meet their daily travel needs, a new report finds — and that means millions of people are being left behind due to car-centric policies.

I say this as a person who has been hit by both a car and a bike while walking
Yes, agree, treat them like serious transportation - regulation but also making space via dedicated lanes and parking
What we should do is treat them like other transportation modes - sure, regulate and license but also give them space - protected bike lanes and dedicated parking
E-bikes are the real urban mobility revolution. Cities need to take them seriously
E-bikes could cut carbon, congestion, and costs — if cities take them seriously
E-bike sales are booming, providing a clean form of transportation that also improves public health. Yet cities remain committed to cars.

“…a 55-year-old couple making $85,000 annually could see their health insurance cost more than triple, to $24,535 a year…And that will just add to the tragedy of tens of millions of Americans lacking what should be a basic benefit in the richest country in the world.”

But the data clearly shows that young drivers are way more at risk for crashing than any other age group, including older drivers. What would you do?
Get that, it’s a concern. But wow young drivers are really at high risk for crashes. And measures such as graduated licenses and training work. I would hope this could occur during normal activities that often use cars. That’s what my parents did.
Totally agree with the front license plate removal. For the sake of two drilled holes they have made our streets and rideshare less safe.
