Dewey's concerns are echoed today, as blatant lies from political leaders undermine truth and evidence-based institutions. This contempt for truth erodes democratic principles, replacing them with conformity to power, and threatens the integrity of scientific, legal, and academic institutions essential for critical thinking and informed decision-making.
