I’ll say it, as no one else has. A trade deficit with every country in the world is a macroeconomic imbalance (savings<investment) that will not be corrected by using tariffs to change relative prices. This is especially true when domestic substitutes do not exist.

I see a lot of Dem leaders speaking to the media. When do they plan to speak to the voters? We are waiting for someone to do something.
Putin isn’t Hitler. But is Trump Austria and wants full out Anschluss or is he Britain and this is just appeasement?
The problem is that this isn’t really what Democrats want. Any more than Evangelical Christians just want to be left alone to pray.
