@ybuckley.bsky.social on how biodiversity is intrinsic to heritage:

"We use ash trees in Ireland to create hurls ... Ash dieback, a disease exacerbated by climate change, is destroying the species. That loss of natural heritage is impacting our cultural heritage"

Think fast: global warming is coming for our heritage
Action is needed now to protect and preserve Ireland’s heritage in the face of climate change, but heritage itself can be part of the solution

The @ccacireland.bsky.social & @fiscalcouncil.bsky.social highlight the massive missed opportunity from climate inaction. Estimated to cost €8-26Bn to plug the gap between legal obligations & emissions by 2030. Habitat restoration is very cost effective for reducing emissions & removing CO2.
