Moulton: He’s auditioning to be the weakest Speaker in American history. And actually, maybe it’s not an audition anymore — he’s affirmatively the weakest Speaker in American history. He’s completely throwing out the Constitution. He might as well not be in Congress.

Which part of Kash Patel’s post today was the most pathetic:

1. That his gf is “a country music sensation.”

Or

2. That she “has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes.”

Or

3. That people are “jeopardizing their safety” by criticizing his flights.

O'DONNELL: Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago residential neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows. Have some of these raids gone too far?

TRUMP: No. I think they haven't gone far enough.

America’s still terrified of powerful women in politics.

It’s pure misogyny baked into the system. Add race to the mix and it’s on a whole different level of hate that most won’t even admit. Time to get over that shit!

Let’s take a step forward on Tuesday.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Europe’s gas prices are still far above the U.S.

Sept 2025: $11.1 vs $3.0 per MMBtu — nearly 4× higher.

Even before the crisis, Europe paid more.

The only lasting fix? Less gas, more renewable energy, more efficiency and more clean electrification. ⚡️

“People who aren’t invested in the stock market are seeing their grocery prices go up, inflation.”

TRUMP: “No, they went up under Biden. Now they’re going down.” 🤥

REALITY: No, they’re going up.

it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops

Kash Patel in 2023: “I’m just saying Chris Wray doesn’t need a government funded G5 jet to go to vacations. Maybe we ground that plane. $15,000 every time it takes off. Just a thought.”

On @60minutes.bsky.social Trump intrvw w N O'Donnell:

(Skipping past weirdness of editing a Trump interview, after CBS payout on that very point.)

IMO, O'Donnell did better job than most on TV, of persistently trying to lasso Trump back toward realm of fact. And not smiling at his 'witticisms.'

I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

Mamdani is not a radical. He has run a tight, smart, fairly standard local campaign. He'll probably get 20 or 30 percent of his platform if he's lucky. The one radical thing he's done is told the Times to go to hell. He has campaigned every step of the way like he doesn't need them, and he's right.

I don't resent poor people who use food stamps to buy another soft drink.

I resent rich people who take away the funds for food stamps to buy another yacht.

I wonder how much of this is, as implied, about messages in the media you consume, and how much is about spending a lot of time on YouTube being a thing depressed and isolated people do.

Obama: As for the president, he has been focused on critical issues like paving over the rose garden so folks don't get mud on their shoes and gold plating the Oval Office and building a ballroom… If you can't visit a doctor, don't worry. He will save you a dance.
