I have no issue with people marking the centenary of the birth of someone no longer alive. But wishing THEM Happy Birthday is weird by any measure.

On which note, Happy Birthday to the very much alive Nana Mouskouri!

63 years ago tonight Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? exploded on to Broadway. Uta Hagen played Martha and when she left the show she was replaced by, um, Elaine Stritch. Can you imagine? You don’t have to because 11 years later she recorded the whole damn thing.
AND HERE IT IS.

This is a crystal clear image of the scumbag Nazi ICE agent that brutally assaulted a mother at a NYC immigration office, while her young daughter watched - and a new photo showing him grabbing her hair before he slammed her to the ground.

Make him even MORE famous.

Federal Secret Police and plainclothes ICE agents kidnap multiple people from a neighborhood in Chicago. They then deploy teargas and brutally beat neighbors who come out to express their concern.

... I should probably open a museum of this stuff. Kind of like a less focussed version of The Museum Of Witchcraft in Boscastle, without the quaint harbour and media savvy. bsky.app/profile/dj-a...

A friend told me he had been clearing out his gran’s house. The most amazing thing he’d found was this knitted effigy of the man who had run off and abandoned my friend’s pregnant aunt. Into the effigy had been stuck twenty knitting needles: one for every year since the man had vanished.
A modern voodoo doll, full of knitting needles

Do pop down to an antique market in the south west of the United Kingdom right now if you are looking for a faceless life size child doll to take back home, destroy your regular sleep patterns and transform your house into a place of constant demonic terror.
A scary faceless doll I found at a market in Devon (but didn't buy, as I value my sleep).

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve.news We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏

New post just out:

The relationship between Russia and the European radical right goes well beyond Reform's Nathan Gill being bribed.

In this post I trace the history back to the 1990s and look at the threat it poses now.
