Tommy was good- but Quadrophenia (for me) was a snapshot of an alternate reality; England was still recovering from the war even decades after, and the cultural shit was mind blowing to me. it was more an art piece with great music, and didn't register til I watched it again years later.

one of the funniest lesser known facts is that he was banned from almost every hotel on 3 continents- they had to disguise him & sneak him into the room. he did an interview telling how he got a bellman's uniform to gain entry in one and ended up making "$50 quid" in tips in Spain.
