The kitchen smells like an auberge in Toulouse or Carcassonne in an evening. The spaniel has woken up and started salivating. The fridge looks empty. We are out of garlic. All good prognostic signs for Cassoulet 👨‍🍳🇫🇷

I have had some positive news this week so decided to make a bit of an effort with cooking. Today: cassoulet. I toyed with making an atorvastatin veloute with it but decided against it. Vive la France 🇫🇷

I think its now pretty much a given that the next government will be Reform. The more interesting question I think is this: another five years down the line standard of living is still no better and more brutal cuts have happened - what happens then 🤔🙁

Very nice this, served with a salad and a portuguese Rose. Managed to get top quality 🐟 thanks to a sunrise birdwatching tour which meant we ended up at the fish market very early. Glorious flamingos at sunrise
