This makes me think of, much as we dream to gain Labubu-type success with our creations 🥹, it would be also true most of us would be ill-equipped to handle that kind of massive, "overnight" success on our own. Still, it makes to my list of "interesting problems to have".

I do know Josh the cartoonist but didn't know about Josh the Harper editor's connection, which kind of "voids" the whole Kickstarter thing 🤔... For which I am pledging, but I feel they set themselves too high a goal ($12k) for this.

I'm sorry to be a broken record on this, but the best thing to do is simply not use Chrome.
These days, after 27 years supporting Netscape and then Mozilla, I use Vivaldi as my default browser, and it really is very good. I have no AI interference at all.

This is not me! The deal-structure/schedule is insane. The deadline is quite friendly?! 10 picture books in 3 years?!

My fondness for HB&K goes way back when Mike was still self-publishing it. Still have these.

Herobear & The Kid: The Inheritance by Mike Kunkel. Self-published circa 2002 or so. Compiles the first five Herobear comics plus many other extras.

Herobear and the Kid "best friends" bust, limited edition 917/1000. I got this on a business trip to Los Angeles around 2007 I think.

AI may be a godsend for grunt, repetitive, mind-numbing work no one looks forward to. Instead, we insist on it doing the things humans would rather do.

"Yeah but it's funny" was an alleged usual retort of his when he was confronting ideas. Nevermind that Schulz had a very particular framing of "funny", but he certainly saw it as the most important thing on the making of the strip.

Know what, been thinking about this more and more since few of us are raising trad families anymore. What's the point of ending up old and alone? The way things are looking, I'd rather be sharing a flat with trusty mates respecting each other's private spaces. Should be another option.
