Well it took way longer than expected but this humble account of yours truly has just crossed the 1k followers mark! 🥳🎈🎉

So, as promised, here's finally the commemorative art for display. "Making of" extra material will be available soon! :D
Leave it to Jon to review a CB special where I can't decide if it's the most awesome or must cursed one or both, either way I'm on a roll here 😅 🍗
Who’s ready for a CRAZY review of a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving?!?

*Crickets Chirping*

Great! Let’s do this!

Note: I’m not analyzing every last frame of this thing. Just the stuff in particular that really sticks out.

Math is knowledge. Knowledge is power.

30k is also way WAYYYY too low. IMHO, anything less than 50k for a 200 page full color book is highway robbery.

So if you have to get robbed to get published (and self pub isn't an option)...at least make something you love, okay?
Here’s some math courtesy of Nate Powell to keep in mind when signing that graphic novel deal. #comics

Funny (not) this comes up as I want to get a couple pages' coloring done for a pitch packet asap.

It's my right to give it a shot, but if the shot ends going nowhere... I'll need to find out something else to do. 🥲
The one about comic book page rates – again. News flash: Comic book page rates are STILL stagnant, after all these years, and for indie cartoonists it's even harder

There was a time where, as a well-heeled IT worker, didn't think much to plunk down 4 Franklins on such a thing.

There was. 🥹
This Shadow The Hedgehog figure looks so goddamn cool! 12” tall. It’s huge!! Glowing LED bottom. It’s $345USD 🥲🥲🥲

I work in a kitchen when I’m not writing & illustrating to support my 2 kids.

In 8 yrs, I’ve been lucky to make $11,000 in publishing. That works out to $1,375 a year.

Authors & illustrators aren’t the petty bourgeois. Stealing from us doesn’t make you a working class hero: It makes you a scab.

If it were up to me those things should last 20+ years, minimum. Last such splurge was a new 13" iPad Pro last year but on condition of 1) getting at least 5 yrs of service off it and 2) it's a workhorse tool. I don't really use it for games.

My high school arts teacher, himself an accomplished sculptor, who gave me the motivation to keep going since my very first attempts to draw and paint still lives at 14 or so. I always say art is what saved me on that awkward age.

To all of my BlueSky friends,

I don't really pitch or sell things on this platform, but I want to share this fundraiser.

I've spent some time in the Wayuu community and the people there are lovely and warm. But the children are at a severe disadvantage.

New Planet Joey comics?

New Planet Joey comics!

I'm back at it and re-writing some of the opening story arc where Joey first meets Herb. I'll share the entire arc later, but in the meantime, here's a new comic hot off the press from the new sequence.

Happy Friday!

Writing a GN script for me is always like attempting 4D Tetris. Now I need to finish the climax of one such story in a convincing way and hoo boy is this hard af or what.

This is what AI bros won't get of Pixar or Ghibli films: It's not about how they look, but about what they tell, and how.

Saw some gig posters using Ai and that’s no good. Gig posters are a lot of artists first gig, they’re fucking with the ecosystem of students getting £20 so I’m making stickers because thermal label printers are our cheapest propaganda tool

Well if the big publishers won’t join either (which i‘d find very surprising) then the 2026 edition is officially dead 🪦🥀🥲

It has to be seen for how longer the organizers staunchly stick to people no one wants around. And lose the festival in the process.
