I've been slowly trying to rebuild my Dirk Brody webcomic site after it decided to become inoperable a while back. Finally getting to one of my favorite sequences when they finally get to the city on the moon only to get split up by catastrophe.

Page from the web comic Dirk Brodey. Dirk and his assistant Tad land on the moon outside a domed city. Dirk exits the ship in an old diving suit to open an entrance near the ship. Tad want to go to but they only have a diving bell instead of a second suit.

Next page, Dirk finds a way to open the door but once inside the whole entrance collapses behind him, cutting him off from communicating with Tad.

Tad races to get in the diving bell in a desperate attempt to save Dirk. Dirk's okay but Tad has no idea of his status.

Cut to Tad shoving the diving bell across the surface of the moon only to get caught on a rock. Unable to move forward he slumps down in despair. Only then he notices an access panel under the moon dust. Another way in!

But I still wanted to have Tad stuck using a diving bell rather than a regular suit since it just made me laugh. Anyway, always loved this sequence and getting it back online seems like a good time to share it.

I had this idea with the diving suit and diving bell way back at the beginning of the comic. Originally Dirk was going to be much meaner to Tad, making him carry everything and only give him the worse equipment. I decided that didn't make for a very appealing character.

I think it might be time to take a step back and rethink this bit. It feels pretty glib and ugly. If that's your intent, spot on but otherwise it's not a good look.
