Off Panel has been growing DRAMATICALLY of late, and if you'd like to support all the work that goes into my long-running comics interview podcast, backing it on Patreon is a great way to do that!
If you enjoy Off Panel, my weekly comics interview podcast, and would like to support it, back it on Patreon! It gets you early access to each week's episode, your name in the outro (in certain tiers), bonus material, and more.

PLUS: It supports the work I do on the show! Which is now my job!

Great advice here. Also well worth a read for comic people looking to meet and network with editors and publishers... especially the part about prep and follow up.
This week over at Writing and Whatnot, I wrote about general meetings and how not to screw them up. One of the worst meetings Shawna and I ever had ended up getting us a job. So every general matters...

Your challenge for today.
Indie comics rely on pre-orders. Go to League Of Comics Geeks where you can search by FOC or Final Order Cutoff. Find yourself a book not DC/Marvel/Image and tell your shop you want it. Take a chance on something new and support indie creators. 👍

While the Westside Writers Meetup is on hiatus till spring some people on my list have been asking if any of the other LA writer meetups are active these days. @valleywritersmu.bsky.social I know it’s tough to host in the winter and rough in general right now, just checking if I missed one…

Almost every time I ask Laura to take a reference photo (which isn't often or she'd remember) I have to say chest level, shoot from the chest level or even midriff.
It's one of the first things mentioned in most cinematography books.
The camera is lower than the eye throughout most movies we watch.

I’m still so proud of the work @danny8bit.bsky.social and I did on The Black Mage which dropped back in 2019. We’ve both significantly leveled up since the book dropped but I think now more than ever, the story still resonates today.

As of this morning, here are the six "most backed" projects on Kickstarter.
What do they all have in common? They're all indie creator brands. Franchises built from the ground up, that continue to serve their fanbases and find new audiences.
And most importantly, they're likely sustainable.
