These findings may help to design effective prevention and treatment strategies for suicidality and self harm tailored for those with TBI. We provide specific suggestions for these in our paper (linked above)👆🏻

We also explored coping strategies with participants. Several reported healthy coping strategies such as engaging with health professionals, positive self talk, and family support. Conversely, substance abuse and social withdrawal were raised as unhealthy coping strategies.

A study in BMC Psychology finds engaging in moderate or light physical activity at least three days per week, and vigorous physical activity one to two days per week, is associated with a reduced incidence of cognitive impairment among middle-aged and older adults.
