Hello Bluesky! Let's start off with my Five Senses Series, where each sense is represented by a member of a fantasy species. In order, here we have Smell (orc), Sight (dwarf), Hearing (elf), Taste (gnome)...

Slender-billed Curlew has officially been declared extinct yesterday. I will treasure all these artworks from fellow artists even more, as a tribute to this bird! Anyone who has a sketch, pencil drawing, etc. of this species laying around, I'm interested to make a swap!

At the center of Viridia lies the great market. It's used by the forest folk as a place to trade with the humans, as it's not yet affected by the Strange.

Isometric ink drawing of a marketplace overrun by the Forest. A few humanoid silhouettes are visiting a friendly looking large spider. On the side there is an illustration of a decorated box and the portrait of the spider.

Hello, here's a bunch of Dwarves I've been suggested to draw on insta.
Sketch pages filled with various dwarves. From left to right : A executioner, a miner that looks suspiciously like Wario, A surf teacher, a druid picking mushrooms and a gaulish warrior.

So I really do need to be making some "LOOKING FOR WORK" material because I am very much without a job currently, but you'd think me keeping up the pace of doing about 2 drawings a day for 150 days straight as a side project would be a pretty good advertisement.

I can't wait for @sispurrier.bsky.social and @matiasbergara.bsky.social's A Mischief of Magpies. This sort of world building is what the larger and wider comics page is made for. Fantasy and science fiction are just generally better with this aspect ratio. @dstlry.bsky.social #comics #FantasyComics

I found another issue of the same magazine that had half the pages ripped out to wrap Christmas ornaments with. Apparently that Yoshi game had a Game Boy Advance companion piece. I get why this one went unreleased. I don't think people want to play an "irreconcilable differences" simulator.

Though ads with Latin script were what I was emulating, I couldn't resist adding some Japanese ads to my refs. Where advertisers abroad went for edgy, Japanese ads were SEXY—sleek lines, confident blocks of color. Modern. Stylish. The kind of ads that knock you on your ass—the good stuff!

Game Boy Advance ads seemed to like going for "edgy" and "weird", even more than '90s ones.

More monkeys! I usually draw Diddy Kong as a spider monkey, but I experimented with some others... only to go right back to spider monkey. I don't know why I decided on "professor" for his dad. This was a fun page: Gorillas, rhinos, and crocs are some of my favorite subjects.

Quick #FossilFriday #paleoart post: a 2025 redo of my 2019 take on the giant #deer Megaloceros. Palaeolithic art captures some aspects of Megaloceros appearance but the details are not unambiguous: when is a line across a body a stripe, when is it a boundary between colour regions?
Three Megaloceros, a stag, doe and fawn, in front of an ice age landscape, painted in 2025. The bodies of the adults have large blocks of colour, without prominent stripes. Three Megaloceros, a stag, doe and fawn, in front of an ice age landscape, painted in 2019. The body of the stag has a dark stripe extending from the shoulder to the thigh.

The Screaming Dragoons is a guild of young deserters who realized that they'd rather risk their lives exploring Viridia than fighting each other.
Isometric drawing of four adventurers in patched-up uniforms, wielding rifles and swords. They are standing on a cobblestone ground near wooden crates.

Inktober, Day 9, "Heavy": This is the heaviest character I could think of. It is a revisit to one of the first color prints I offered way back in 1993 at my first Gen Con Art Show, on the heels of the release of the AD&D "Monstrous Manual". 🎨

Reclamation heavy lift aircraft bringing equipment and personnel into the valley of Two-Sky River.

The small cockpit windows are mainly a backup for the augmented reality sensorium helmets worn by pilots; a technology favored by House Kendi.

2 more shorebird paintings: a Spoon-billed watercolour study, based on my sightings in China in 2013. 2nd is an oil, titled 'We are all young' of various shorebirds observed in Hungary. I won the Swarovski/Birdwatch Artist of the Year prize with this in 2008. Both are available as giclée prints.

Oh yeah, also, if you didn't know: spider monkeys don't have thumbs. So I made sure that Diddy Kong and his dad didn't have thumbs.
