hello everyone, I'm Gina (they/them), a PhD student at CMU working on binary black hole mergers (specifically from a computational perspective: trying to get our modeled populations to line up with our observed population)

got a free face moisturizer with an order i placed a while ago and i just ran out of my usual one so i was like ok ill try it how bad could it be

the answer is very bad! texture of cold whipped butter? white cast bc it has some spf in there? also incredibly hard to squeeze out of the bottle

the schedule said run for 20 min straight and we were like "lol theres no way" so our goal was to make it to 10 and we did! we did like 4 or 5 more min after a long walking break so it was a little less running overall but im proud we increased our jog-without-stopping time from 8 to 10 min!

I'm absolutely convinced what makes Shakespeare inaccessible to a lot of audiences isn't the iambic pentameter old english it's the fact most plays are rehearsed as spoken verses and not acted with meaning

because when actors actually act out what they're saying it is So Clear

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.
