Just learned a new bit of recent slang: aura farming. It means “trying to look cool.” It’s related to a slightly earlier bit of slang, the use of “aura” to mean “charisma.”

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Remember 2016 when Trump’s medical release said that he “showed only positive results,” because Trump wrote the letter himself and was too stupid to know that meant he had every disease?

When I was a kid, my family went to an Italian place near us which, once we were there, they started to speculate in hushed tones was maybe a Mafia joint. I piped up in piercing kid-voice, audible several tables away, “What's the Mafia?”

This presumes that the essence of Catholicism is the worship and/or veneration of clergy, particularly the Pope, and that’s never been a settled thing within Catholicism.

I mean, yes, these guys are ridiculous, but not because they argue with the pope. Catholics argue with the pope. It’s a thing.

Does “amendment” here mean this is now part of a larger piece of legislation that probably hasn't passed yet?

I think that Democrats winning more elections would be extremely beneficial on net, even if what it took to get there was standing firm on liberal values, demonstrating some spine, and refusing to throw trans people under the bus.

I think that Democrats winning more elections would be extremely beneficial on net for all the relevant groups, even if what it took to get there was some moderation on specific positions.

You’ve been on every major platform imaginable saying in one way or another that the democrats can function by cleaving random marginal groups because doing so would be electorally advantageous. This is the right’s fault, but it is also YOUR fault for trying to get in on their game, too, *******!
