Rothbard is a patron saint of the Broligarchs' efforts to establish their own personal empires offshore-which is why the subtitle of my new(ish) book is "The New Colonialism."
Rothbard-inspired techbros are styling themselves as imperial potentates.

Either it's a video of you saying stuff you didn't say, which is violently problematic, or it's a video of you saying stuff you did say, in which case what was the purpose of the AI bit?

Nothing could possibly go wrong with this. Creating a lifelike digital avatar on a third party platform will definitely not open teaching staff up to career destroying issues in the event of that platform being hacked.

I had a great time presenting at the @lseechist.bsky.social faculty seminar yesterday; grateful for their tolerance of my cultural history (including invocations of Benjamin…).

Best of all: thanks to their PhD students, who were fantastic!

It’s a 1️⃣-2️⃣punch: The State of Texas, the Regents, & the President dissolve the Faculty Council. Then Trump offers a compact that will affect academic freedom, curriculum, student recruitment, research priorities, the future of academic programs. Once faculty had a voice in such decisions. No longer.

There are some things I really admire about Italy, like these spontaneous demonstrations in piazze all over the country right now.
